Hi, my name is Shiyuan, a senior at Cranbrook Kingswood Upper School in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. I am passionate about biomedical research and engineering. In my free time, I enjoy figure skating, tennis, and writing poetry.

Research

Neuroscience

Independent Research

Using 32-channel electroencephalogram (EEG) to collect data on brain waves of 30 participants. Analyzing results (ERP, topographical mappings, etc.) to study the effects of repetition on fine motor skills and action prediction.

Biochemistry

Conducted 360 hours of intensive undergraduate-level research on inhibiting Northern Leaf Blight fungal pathogenic protein infections. Purified expressed protein samples, screened Cdc14 enzyme dephosphorylation functionality and inhibitor efficacy.
